After hearing that the city of San Antonio has
one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the
nation, a group of ladies got together and
decided to form an organization in order to do
something about making a change. We felt that if
we could impact the lives of girls with wholesome
values and examples, then maybe we could help
decrease the city’s current status of having one of
the highest teen pregnancy rates to possibly the
city with the lowest teen pregnancy rates.
Banding together with our community, we know
that this task can be accomplished.

And from that meeting D.I.V.A’s was formed.

D.I.V.A’s is a sisterhood of women from various
backgrounds and cultures who have joined
together to take young girls in the San Antonio
community away from the streets, videos, movies,
books and any other form of negativity that may
influence them to make wrong choices.  We have
dedicated ourselves to be positive mentors to
teach young ladies how to become young women
of great character and integrity.  Our goal is to
change their mindset in order to expand their
horizons.
